Church. It had such a strong presence in my childhood. Growing up I endured 16 years of Catholic School and only missed mass due to illness. So why do I go now? First of all, faith. I do believe in the teachings of the Catholic faith although the institution causes me indigestion at times. Second of all, family. Although it would be impossible to replicate the role church palyed in my life growing up, I want my children to understand their faith and its teachings. We spend a few minutes after Sunday school eating donuts and I ask them what they learned. They covered the meaning of Ash Wednesday but neither could remember what it meant. I am willing to bet it took me longer than first grade to understand it as well, even at a Catholic School. Whether or not they remember everything they learned today, I will always remember Sunday mornings having donuts on the stage after mass. Hopefully they will as well.
A pretty good reason to get out of bed.

The Beginning
So what does get me out of bed every morning? After all, the bed is comfy and sleep is good. There is however stuff to do. Excercise, help with the kids, work, see friends and generally contribute to the health of society. But what is the motivation behind all of it? Why do I do the things I do? That's what I am trying to discover....let's see where the journey takes us.
